Hello, my name is Annmarie and I am a new Communications Intern at Save the Harbor/Save the Bay.
I will be using this internship for class credit at Simmons College, where I'm a senior studying Communications and
Environmental Biology. I'm excited to
combine both my academic interests in communications and biology, as well as my love for the beach shore at Save the Harbor/Save the Bay. My mind is full with the
possibilities this semester holds for me. I look forward to learning new
things, meeting new people, and making the most of such an amazing opportunity.
One
of my first tasks was to become familiar with the summer programs and
events at Save the Harbor/Save the Bay. I did this by exploring this
blog and taking a look at all the pictures that had been collected over
the summer. I enjoyed
reading about the experiences of the harbor explorers and marine
educators, it was
clear that they had a great summer. Yet it was the pictures that really brought these experiences to life. I was able to see the beautiful beaches, the exploration of the
islands, the community brought together by events, and the children’s
excitement for camp. After looking through the photos, I’m very
excited to start my first assignment.
This
fall I will be spearheading a Facebook campaign to show some of the photos from the amazing summer at Save the Harbor/Save the Bay. While I cannot show
them all, I will be sharing an eclectic bunch of these photos with you.
These photos will be ones that I find interesting, exciting, intriguing
and ones that have an amusing story behind them. Together these photos
will tell the story of the summer at Save the Harbor/Save the
Bay. I can’t wait to share these photos with you; I hope
you enjoy them as much as I do!
Stay tuned for more information on this campaign, and remember to Like Save the Harbor/Save the Bay on Facebook to see new photos
posted every week!
Until next time,
Annmarie
