The Treasures of Spectacle Island

On September 15, 278 guests joined Save the Harbor / Save the Bay on the Treasures of Spectacle Island trip. While some groups did not get a chance to explore the wonders of the beach due to the high tide, many were fortunate enough to get down to the beach in the early afternoon as the tide started to recede.

Lots of historic artifacts were uncovered on the beach - ranging from tiny marbles to large chunks of 50-year-old toilets! Bruce Berman helped families identify their findings and showed them what was trash and what was treasure. Unfortunately for the kids, they found out that all the artifacts they unearthed on Spectacle must remain there, and could return home with only their memories from their fantastic day on the island.
