Justin Michelson -- Start of the Summer at Save the Bay!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Justin Michelson and I am from Needham, Massachusetts. I am extremely excited to work with the Save the Harbor Save the Bay team for the summer of 2018 as an Environmental Policy Intern! Boston is an incredible city, partly due to its beautiful ocean views, and it is an honor to be a part of the team that makes it all possible.

I am about to enter my senior year at Providence College, majoring in Economics. While the major is at times perceived as boring and strictly about business, I would argue it gives avenues to all kinds of fields, and helps society understand the impacts of peoples’ actions not only to themselves but to the community as well. With my degree and work experience, I hope to specialize in topics of environmental science, sustainability, and policy work. This past year I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark to learn more about the innovative approaches the city is taking in both sustainable development and urban planning. I hope to continue this great exposure through working in the non-profit sector, and help with environmental advocacy and policy research.

When I am not working or studying, I love to hang out with friends, play or watch sports, travel, and go to the beach! It has always been a dream of mine to work in Boston, and it is amazing to see it is actually happening! I am really looking forward to this opportunity to work for such a great organization, and help make the world a better place!
