Let's go fishing! SHE saying Hey!

Hey everyone! My name is Jules Stuber and I'll be joining Save the Harbor as a new Senior Harbor Educator. I'm originally from the island of Martha's Vineyard, but have called Boston home for the last year. I graduated from the University of Vermont, where I majored in community development and minored in environmental studies. My love for all things aquatic led me to intern at Save the Harbor over the winter, and I'm excited to be rejoining the team for our summer programming!

While working at Save the Harbor I was able to see firsthand how a trip to the shore or pulling up a crab trap could instantly put a smile on a kids face, and I am enormously proud of being a part of the "Boston connection" that helps make those experiences possible for over 30,000 people each year. Growing up on an island, I tended to take those encounters for granted, but now I see just how important it is to get Boston's young adults out onto the water, so that they can learn more about their own communities and themselves.

As an avid surfer, sailor, and fly fisherman, I understand the importance of maintaining our waterways for future generations to use and enjoy, and I can't wait to teach some of you how to tie on a lure or read the tides. Apart from bumming around on the water, I also love to cook, especially seafood, so if anyone ever has any questions about how to shuck an oyster or grill a lobster on the beach,  I'm your guy.

I can't wait to get back to work and meet you all, now let's go catch some fish!
