Haul Away Joe!

It has been a busy time here at Save The Harbor / Save the Bay's office on the Fish Pier, as tall ships from around the world and kids from across the Commonwealth visit Sail Boston 2009!

Here is a picture from our office on the pier of the Viking Starliner with our kids onboard. In the background you can see the Tall Ship Sail Training Vessel Concordia, which we were lucky enough to board and explore!

We hosted groups from Boston's neighborhoods, and from Lynn, Revere, Quincy, Worcester and Springfield . Here's a picture of State Senator Jack Hart, with a group from South Boston.

Here's State Senator Tom McGee with a group from Lynn.

Here is a picture of some of the more than 100 kids from Worcester who joined us on the first trip on Thursday. Thanks to our partners at the Hanover Insurance Group Foundation and Mass Humanities for making this great program possible!

And of course, thanks to Save the Harbor / Save the Bay's staff for sharing the harbor, and making everyone feel welcome!

And now, what you have been waiting for - Save the Harbor's own David Coffin and the gang sing "Haul Away Joe!"

It is a very old song, but its message is still true today. If you want to get something done, we all have to pull in the same directiuon and "Haul Away" together. It is how we cleaned up Boston Harbor, and it is the key to our success.

Thanks for visiting. See you on Boston Harbor!
