Hello! I'm Albert, and it's been an exciting first week for me at STH. I'm a rising senior at Boston Latin School, and I'm from Brighton. I've always been a fan of exploring the shores and beaches of Massachusetts, so I was more than ecstatic to hear that I could do just that at Save the Harbor! Although it's only been a week, I've got a good feeling about the weeks to come, and the experience so far has been a blast!
I'm part of Jason's group, which is pretty gnarly. Last week, we explored the beaches and marshes of Revere, where we got to take a look at some pretty rad species. We learned how to identify and record different species of bivalves. And we did work looking at the invasive species found on beaches. During our visit to Rumney Marsh, we got to see an ecosystem in action, ranging from the swarms of mosquitoes to a kettle of red-tailed hawks. In spite of all of this, the highlight to my week was definitely spending the downtime between activities.
