Amazing First Day at George's Island!

Hello all! Today was this year's first trip out to George's Island. After a few logistical problems, we ended up at George's Island with over an hour and a half to enjoy the fort and ...the dark tunnel! On the boat ride out with Captain Mark, I had the pleasure of sitting down and talking to the many kids from the East Boston YMCA. Since they have been out with me many times this summer, most already knew my name or came up to me saying that my face was familiar. We talked about Dragonball, Naruto, Yugio, Pokemon, and then switched to talk about the islands, the harbor, and their favorite sea animals. After we boarded off the island and ate lunch, I went with the East Boston Y to go into the dark tunnel. Of course, as soon as we approached the dark tunnel, every single kid was grabbing onto my arm. We made it through safely - although there were many screams of horror.

On our way home, two little boys became my little brothers: Luis and Jackie. I am so glad they accepted me into their "family" and I can't wait to see them next time they come onto All Access!

These are some of the other kids from the trip (who grabbed onto my arm during the walk through the dark tunnel)!

See you guys next time!
