Hello!
My name is Caroline Wilbur (pronouns: she/her) and I am one of the summer 2022 Senior Harbor Educators (SHE) for Save the Harbor! I graduated from Bridgewater State University in January of 2020 with a degree in English, and a focus in Communications and Secondary Education. After graduation, I started teaching English Langauge Learners (ELLs). I have now completed my second year as a teacher in a middle school in Quincy. In addition to teaching, I also coach for the high school swim, and lacrosse teams.
Having spent my year teaching in the classroom, it is a refreshing transition, going back outside. While I love teaching, nothing can compare to spending every day outside at the beach learning more about Boston Harbor history and the wildlife in the harbor. Every summer when I am not working I love to spend time surfing at the beach, and hiking different trails around New England!
This summer, I am so lucky to have the opportunity to join the Save The Harbor crew for a third summer! It will be a great time for each of us to learn more about the programs that Save The Harbor has to offer! I am looking forward to sharing the history behind Boston Harbor! Specifically, since we have so many new sites to explore! I am especially excited to be working at the Boston Children's Museum to teach others about fishing and crabbing in the harbor!
Sea you next time!
Here is a picture from a fishing trip in 2020! Here I am holding a black bass that I caught!
