And We're Back!

Hey, what is up fellas! It is your tallest, cheesy, and favorite JPA, Qalid Hassan. And I am happy to be back for my third summer at Save the Harbor! Allow me to say a few things about myself before I dive into the major fun I am expecting out on the harbor this summer:

I am a rising senior at Boston Latin School, who is choosing to study Economics and Statistics as my electives. During my junior year I expanded my studies in environmental science, in my Advanced Placement Enviro class. It was my favorite class this year because our world is so beautiful, and diverse with many different types of animals, species of plants, landscapes and so much more, yet humans are destroying the beauty for personal greed. During the summer I plan to incorporate those studies into my work, and teach a person or two about how easy, and important it is and gradually will be to sustain our world, especially our marine world! I am also a varsity basketball player for my school. This is my second year playing organized basketball, and I love it! Last year, while I split ( playing both varsity for a bit and junior varsity for the majority of the season), BLS managed to win its first DCL championship in 13 years! Other highlights from the school year include: finishing it strong, prom, and meeting so many wonderful people. My other interests are enjoying time outside, relaxing, and especially teaching kids about our harbor!
Lets get this bread

This summer, I have a lot of goals. I want to make this year at Save the Harbor my best year yet! With returning staff like Aleena and Patrice, or new staff like my teammate Roy Thompson (shoutout All Access!), I hope to enlighten, and bring a smile to every face that steps on the harbor, because Boston Harbor is OUR HARBOR! I plan on catching some fish, crabs, and make people's time out on the harbor as fun as it could ever be. Glad to be back, and let's strive for greatness this summer!

Happy Summer!
Qalid Hassan
