Excited to Work on the Harbor!

Hi, my name is Esmeralda Mendez. I just graduated from the John D. O'Bryant School of Math and Science and will be attending UMass Lowell in the fall as biology major. When I was in O’Bryant I participated in sports and other extracurricular activities; I did soccer for two years and softball for four years and NJROTC for three years. In my free time I like to read, hang out with friends and go shopping; my all time favorite kind of shopping has to be food shopping though. I am excited to work with Save the Harbor/ Save the Bay this summer because this job is completely different from anything I've ever done. I am also a youth sound technician so I do not normally work with children. I mainly work with adult musicians and am usually the youngest one there. It is going to be cool to be one of the older ones for a change. I do not have too much experience working with younger children, but I have a niece and nephew that I spend a lot of time with so I am sure I can manage. Normally I do not touch any kind of sea creatures so this is going to be interesting to touch fish on a regular basis. I cannot wait to learn how to catch fish and crabs all by my self and for the various activities I will be doing this summer. I am also happy I will be outdoors because I absolutely love the summer.
