This past week was the first week of programming at our sites, which means Save The Harbor/Save The Bay was ready for yet another eventful summer at Camp Harbor View. This summer is my second at Camp Harbor View, and it was great to see familiar faces all throughout the camp. From LIT's to campers to Staff, I really enjoyed seeing these people, some of which I hadn't seen since last summer. It was also awesome seeing kids from last year's fishing club to come join us for a second summer of fishing. What was most inspiring was that some of the campers whom we taught how to fish the previous summer, were teaching other campers how to fish this summer.
The first week at Camp Harbor View was filled with fun and excitement, and is probably going to be one of the best weeks of the summer, with Thursday being the most eventful day. On Thursday Kim caught the first fish of the year, which was great because the kids were able to see that it was possible to catch fish at the camp. Later on in the day we watched the Staff talent show, which was filled with laughter and joy. Although at the end of the day we missed our boat back to Boston, we enjoyed two more hours on the island with the campers until they leave at 4, which made us very excited! We spent that time playing basketball, and getting to know the campers outside of fishing with them

I'm going to remember this first week at CHV for a long time, and it was a great start to the summer.
Until Next Time,
