Back at it!

The day I discovered Moon Jellies!
My name is Ana Bueso and this is my second year at Save the Harbor Save the Bay. I'm from Roslindale, born and raised so I was never exposed to the harbor until I became involved with Save the Harbor Save the Bay. It was strange at first to be on the water, in the sun, and fishing all the time. It's tiring at first but the more you do it the easier and more enjoyable it gets. I'm so excited to be back this year and hopefully get to explore more of the program. My first year was the summer of 2015, I was stationed at the Children's Museum for the first half of the summer. The thing I most enjoyed about this location is that it allowed me to learn the basic essentials needed in order to work for Save the Harbor. This included fishing 101, catching and building up the courage to hold them, etc. My favorite activity at this site was catching moon jellyfish! They were my favorite creature and the children thought they were the coolest thing.

For the second half of the summer I was at Piers Park. The best aspect of this site to me was the children. At Piers Park you were essentially a camp counselor so you got to build a relationship with the children and it made the day and all the activities so much more enjoyable. You also get spoiled with the opportunity to go kayaking everyday and sailing if you're lucky. I hope this year I get to return to these sites and new ones along with meeting all the new faces I've seen! I can't wait to see what Blacks Creek has in store for me this summer.

Catch ya later,
Ana
