First week on Spectacle Island!

This here is a green crab caught by one of the
kids at Spectacle Island.
This week was my first week working at All Access and I have to say that it was a great new experience. Prior to the day of orientation when the Save the Harbor summer staff went on a boat and got to fish in the harbor, I had never went fishing before in my whole life. Now I get to show a lot of young children who, for the most part, was also fishing for their first time as well. It was great to see the kids have fun and the excitement on their faces when they actually caught something, which unfortunately wasn't as often as I had hoped because we didn't catch much fish this week, but we caught a lot of crabs!

This picture here was taken while
we were doing cart wheels.
Besides fishing we also played sports with the kids and families visiting the island-- from football to volley ball and even soccer. On Thursday this one little girl in particular, who was very energetic and out going, came to us on the hill on Spectacle Island and introduced herself. She told us that she was very athletic and proceeded to show us how to do a cart wheel as you can see in the picture on the left. After, we decided to get in the cool water and had a great time!

Sincerely,
Vince Vila
