Scavenger Hunt with K.I.P

Ahmed explaining their mission.
This Wednesday was a very calm and relaxing day at Camp Harbor view. KIP stands for Knowledge is Power and during this time campers usually participate in a educational and fun activity. Today during KIP these campers took part in a massive scavenger hunt all along Long Island. Our job during this was to man one of the stops along the scavenger hunt and tell the campers to complete an activity in order to get their next clue.

Campers waiting to hear their clue.

The activity the campers had to complete at our stop was collecting five items on the beach including a crab, a shell, a piece of trash, a brick, and wood. Some of the groups were able to complete the task in less than 30 seconds, which I thought was very impressive. Whenever we had time in between  activity's we would throw a football or play soccer amongst our self and with a couple of the campers. It was great for us to have some time just to play some sports and have fun, and we all enjoyed it. Today was definitely one of the most relaxing and enjoyable days at Camp Harbor view, and I thought everyone on the island had a ton of fun. Even though our activity was a little weird, the campers and all of us had a great, which in my eyes made this day successful. -Abel Yohannes
