First Week

This week was a week of firsts! It was my first week with Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, and I've loved every minute so far. This was also the first time that I've been in a work environment such as this. Before this week, I had never really worked with children, and I had never been in a position of leadership. Now, however, there are over 30 kids that look to me and my fellow educators for leadership and guidance. It's a rather big change from what I'm used to, but I feel like I've adapted well.

I also learned and played many games for the first time, such as Sharks and Minnows, and Uncle Sam. The kids were scandalized that I had never played them before, and they were a huge help in teaching me how to play.

This week was also the first time that I had ever seen and felt a molted crab. The kids loved feeling the crab, but I found it weird because I wasn't expecting a crab to be that soft.

One of the crabs that was caught.

I've only been here a week and I've already experienced so many new things! I can't wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!

Tommy decided to help me cool down a little.
